Earth:

The Element of earth is the common thread that binds these entries together - earth as material body, as the ground we walk on and the spaces and places that we meet in, connect in and are transformed by. A second thread is the act of crossing, blending, collecting from and ignoring disciplinary boundaries and the third is Improvisation - the force, affective practice and tool which allows us to make connections, in bags, with each other, with artefacts; which enables us to become murmuration; which enables us to see the things that Glow (Maclure 2013), to hear the Voice that Thunders (Garner 1997) and that move us to "launch forth, hazard an improvisation and to join with the world on the thread of a tune.” (Deleuze and Guatari 1987 pg. 363)
